This section of Bogology seeks to answer the crucial question of why we undertake the research we do. Since most of our research is publicly funded we think this is a vital point to address. We will keep peatlands in the back of our minds as always (!), but such fundamental questions also require a broader outlook. Ultimately, it all boils down to climate change, which we discuss here.
We have divided the answer to why we do it into past, present and future. What role does investigating the past have, what is happening to climate and peatlands right now and what might happen to both in the future? We hope you find these pages interesting. If you have any questions please get in touch by asking a Bogologist or via Twitter or Facebook.
