IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change): International collaboration of climate scientists who publish regular (~every 5-7 years) summaries of the state of global climate science and predictions for future changes. Fifth assessment published at end of September 2013.
PAGES (Past Global Changes): International organisation coordinating and promoting past global change research.
IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature) Peatland Programme: Programme geared towards peatland restoration but has sections on wider relevant issues such as climate change.
International Peat Society: A non-governmental and a non-profit-making organisation aimed at fostering the study of peatlands, mires and peat.
Quaternary Research Association: UK research organisation interested in the last 2.6 million years of Earth’s history (the Quaternary).
COIN (Climate Outreach Information Network): Organisation that aims to foster effective climate change communication
ISTAR (International Society for Testate Amoebae Research): Academic society for all things testate!
