Welcome to Bogology. We’re glad you made it. We’ve created this website to make our research more accessible to a wide audience. That includes you! We are passionate about the research that we and our colleagues in the wider peatland academic community do and would like to share that with you. But we’d prefer if it wasn’t just a one way thing. We appreciate that outreach, to call it what it is, works much better as a conversation. So please, get in touch. You can do it in any number of ways. Comment on a blog. Ask us a question. Follow us on Facebook. Follow us on Twitter. We’d love to know what you think about what we are doing and commenting on.
We’ve populated Bogology with a whole heap of basic information on the research we do – that is using peat bogs to study past climate change. You can find out what we do, where we do it, how we do it and crucially, why we do it. We’ll be posting regular blogs, Facebook updates and Tweets. These might be on our ongoing research, other relevant research that we think is interesting and want to bring to your attention, or on the general life of an academic researcher. If we are discussing our own or someone else’s research, we’ll always provide full references to the source studies.
Eventually, we would like Bogology to become something of a hub for discussions between anyone interested in what we do, from other members of academia to school and college students to interested members of the public. And anyone else in between. But for now, we’re just glad you’re here. Please take a look around and if you like what you see, tell your friends!
